The New Season is not far away!

Posted by Glen Merryweather on 08/07/2015 at 23:37

Hello Tigers!

The new season is nearly upon us and I have had an interesting evening arranging the fixtures against a lot of new teams! It is going to be a busy season with a bit of travelling but I can not wait to get started!

We've got the family day on 18th, 10am approx. at Sherwood Pines followed by two weeks training before the friendlies start!

Roll on 2015-2016!

Last game of the season

Posted by Glen Merryweather on 14/04/2015 at 22:31

This Sunday see's the Tigers take on Birchwood in the last game of the season.

We're going to give it our best shot to finish for a win but more importantly the team have a bit of fun! I'll be mixing it up a bit with my aim to get henry and Lewis to score to complete the whole team to have scored a goal. The big question is will Ben give is two penalties!!!

We've got the presentation night on the 29th and I'll be emailing full details before the event, then it is tournament time in May and June before the boys have a well earned rest.

See you all Sunday!

Glen

Today's game

Posted by Glen Merryweather on 08/02/2015 at 11:30

Well sadly today's game was beaten by the weather.

Pitch inspection 9-9.30 saw the majority of the pitch frozen solid, not even taking key or stud. The sun was out and I was in two minds but for the safety of the players I made the decision to call it off in good time. Sections of the pitch were ok by kick off as Kyle from the Bees checked the pitch for their afternoon kick off. But goal mouths and the far side near the fence were still frozen and dangerous.

It is a shame as the team had been training really well the last two weeks and I was looking forward to seeing them put into action what they had been working on. Also there was going to be a debut for Morgan which is now on hold until next week.

We are back in action next week with a game against the Bucaneers so with another week of training I'm hoping we can put in a good performance against them again.

Second half of the season!

It's my official first game in charge of the Under 7's and I am really look forward to helping the team enjoy their football.

I'd like to thank Mike for all of his hard work over the last year in setting up the teams, he's built a really great team who enjoy football and playing for each other!

Let's hope we can continue to enjoy our football and if we can get back to winning ways that would be a bonus!
