History of Hykeham Tigers

Mike Moore thinks about getting into football club, but struggles because he is relatively new to football and is miles below the required ability level to compete. Mike never got a chance to play football growing up, because he was always told he wasn’t good enough to get into a team.
South Lincoln JFC is born. 4 children turn up to the first training session.
After visiting local fates to recruit players, South Lincoln JFC have their first friendly, which results in a 24-0 loss for Hykeham Tigers FC against Toft Newton.

14 More games followed throughout that season, and the club soon got it’s first victory.

At the AGM in 2006, it was agreed the club would be renamed to Hykeham Tigers FC

In 2007, after out growing the memorial field in North Hykeham, the club home ground is the former Usher School on Skellingthorpe Road. 6 teams are entered into the Midlincs youth league.
With the continued growth of the club, the home ground is moved again to Manor Leas School. A record 10 teams are entered into the midlincs youth league. The club was also awarded with its first charter standard award for high standards in youth coaching.

At the 2008 Mid Lincs Youth League AGM, the club is awarded the very prestigious “Club of the year”. At the 2009 AGM, the club won the award again smashing a 25 year record for any club to win the award 2 years running. In 2010, the club retained this yet again, which was described the the league as “Astonishing”.

In 2009 and 2010, the club continued to expand and grow at a lightning pace. By this point, there were nearly 250 children playing for the club.

A merger with a local adults team, Varsity City FC saw Hykeham Tigers get its own adults team.

In 2011, the club is awarded with the Charter Standard Community award and comes runner up in the annual FA Charter Standard club of the year awards.

In 2015, the celebrates its 10th Birthday with an event at Lincoln City FC. Mike, the founder, makes an emotional speech and is reduced to tears.
In 2019, Hykeham Tigers select St Barnabas Hospice as it’s charity partner of the year.
